The basic aim of the IHC programme is to give sailors the opportunity to buy equipment that is race legal at its point of purchase. By enabling builders to self-certify equipment - once they have met certain standards - sailors should have a quicker and more cost effective method of getting their boats on the water and racing. With an international system of IHC, ISAF can ensure standards and certification apply worldwide.

ISAF has been in the process of setting up the ISAF In-House Certification programme of equipment, after Submission 034-05 was approved by the ISAF Council at the ISAF Annual Conference in Singapore last November. The IHC microsite - www.sailing.org/ihc - has now been updated and includes frequently asked questions about the programme and copies of the Information Pack and training syllabi for IHC Internal Official Measurers to download.

The microsite also includes up to date information on the classes who have expressed interest in undertaking the in the IHC programme, as well as all the latest news on IHC.
