Claire LEROY (FRA) and Lotte MELDGAARD PEDERSEN (DEN), the top two skippers in the ISAF World Match Race Rankings, line up against each other whilst Josie GIBSON (GBR) faces Katie SPITHILL (AUS).

After three superb days of sailing in St Quay, the breeze dropped off for the quarter-final matches on Friday, hovering around the 5 knot mark.

SPITHILL won the battle of the skippers from down under by comfortably beating Jessica SMYTH (NZL) in their match, whilst the remaining three matches were much closer. World #1 LEROY defeated world #3 Silke HAHLBROCK (GER), MELDGAARD PEDERSEN beat world #4 Klaartje ZUIDERBAAN (NED) and GIBSON (GBR) completed the semi-final line up with victory in her match against Christelle PHILIPPE (FRA).

On Saturday the semi-finals pit LEROY against MELDGAARD PEDERSEN and GIBSON versus SPITHILL. Following on from the semis, the final will decide the 2007 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Champion.
