On a day of hot sunshine when the typical thermal driven Sirocco blew South Easterly, the race area took crews on a 2.5 mile triangle in the Santa Margherita bay. A spectacular show of sails for everybody, competitors, race officials and spectators.

My song took line honours in the race, followed closely by the maxi “Idea SAI”, owned by Raffaele Raiola, followed then by Sotto Voce in third. ”We knew the wind conditions today would favour the IMS boats”the skipper of Idea commented after racing.

Weather conditions were ideal for the Grand Soleil 42R “TNT” as Vascotto emphasized following racing ”It was a beautiful race, conditions were ideal for us and the crew answered the test with a big win”.
