Next Stop Scandinavia
After having finished the two first events of the 49er World Cup, in Cannes and Lake Garda, on 13-15 June the circuit moves on to Scandinavia and Stenungsund, Sweden as part of the Open Swedish Championship for Olympic classes.

The Circuit then moves on to Rungsted, Denmark on 19-21 June as part of the Eurolymp regatta Scandinavian Race Week.

The overall leaders, HESTBAEK/ANDERSEN (DEN) will face the two top ranked Spanish teams of ISAF World Ranked number one and current world champions, Iker MARTINEZ/Xabi FERNANDEZ, and World number four, Santiago Lopéz VAZQUEZ/Javier DE LA PLAZA. Triple World Champion Chris NICHOLSON/Gary BOYD (AUS) who made a strong comeback in the recent SPA regatta and the Norwegian pair of Christoffer SUNDBY/Frode BOVIM also join the fleet among others as the fleet rejoins in Sweden in two weeks time.
The Scandinavian events will use a new scoring system. After two days of qualifying fleet races, the six top teams will qualify for the final regatta consisting of three elimination races where the last boat in each will be eliminated. The three remaining teams will continue racing until one has won two races and thereby, the regatta.
After the Scandinavian Tours, the World Cup circuit moves on to Hunstanton, GBR 31st July-3rd August and Taiwan 29th september-5th October.
