Round Robin 1 of the ISAF Grade 1 Boat US Santa Maria Cup was completed yesterday in variable conditions. Ten teams from seven nations have gathered in Annapolis, including four sailors ranked in the top 10 of the ISAF Women's World Match Race Rankings.
Round Robin 1 of the ISAF Grade 1 Boat US Santa Maria Cup was completed yesterday in variable conditions. Ten teams from seven nations have gathered in Annapolis, including four sailors ranked in the top 10 of the ISAF Women’s World Match Race Rankings.
With light winds and some big shifts, the race committee had a difficult task setting the course and the competitors had complex conditions to deal with. By the end of the day and for the last two flights the conditions had settled down with sunshine and a good breeze.
Current World Champion Liz Baylis (USA) scored a perfect 6 wins and 0 losses and is followed by Klaartje Zuiderbaan (NED), Giulia Conti (ITA) and Betsy Alison (USA) each with 4 wins and 2 losses.
