Bressani Wins J/24 Title

Held from the 28 until the 3 of May in Porto Rotondo, located on Sardinia the J/24 European Championship was won by Lorenzo BRESSANI from Italy.

The defending champions Team JUST 4 FUN (NED) finished in second position and in third position was Keith WHITTMORE from Seattle (USA).

Expectations were high for Team JUST 4 FUN before the event started. They had to defend their title, which they won in Dublin, Ireland last year. The interest for this European Championship held of the beautiful Island Sardinia was great. 70 teams from nine countries took part, a very big fleet with many experienced and even professional sailors.

Team manager and helmsman Albert Kooijman noted, “This event was very important for us, not only because of the fact that we tried to defend our title but also an important benchmark for our boatspeed, boathandling and tuning. Because of the quality of the sailors in this event, we know what to expect for the J/24 Worlds in August this year held in Medemblik, The Netherlands”.
