National Judges Manual Launched

US SAILING, national governing body of the sport of sailing in USA, has just published an updated version of its popular Judges Manual.

The new manual covers all aspects of judging a sailing event, including standards and practices, preparing for an event, conduct of a protest hearing, and redress. This new version updates all former editions and brings its content into conformity with the current Racing Rules of Sailing. This extensive resource from US SAILING is an important part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to ensure quality competition across the country.

The US SAILING Judges Manual is written as a reference guide for members of protest committees, with a primary focus on prospective US SAILING certified judges. The manual also contains valuable information for race committee members, competitors and any sailor who wants to know more about the protest process. In addition, the manual serves as the official study guide and textbook for US SAILING Judges Workshops and represents the collective best thinking and experiences of a number of talented US SAILING Judges.
