With an impressive scoreline, Torben continues to lead the fleet sailing out of the Iate Clube do Rio de Janeiro at the Star South American Championship in Brazil.
With another two races completed, Torben’s younger brother Lars, is no longer quite as closely snapping on the heels of his brother, after dropping down two places from second to fourth, after an 8 and 10 yesterday.
Not surprisingly, Torben is Brazil’s top ranked Star sailor, placing 23 in the ISAF World Sailing Rankings. Behind him sits Alessandro Pascolato and crew Ronald Seifert in 69. However, this duo are not fairing so well at the Championship, having at best managed a ninth.
Racing finishes today. With an ISAF Grade 2 ranking status, valuable ranking points will be on offer to the top finishers.
