Schenker Provide Logistics For 2008 Youth Worlds

Sailing Århus is delighted to announce Schenker as one of the major supporters of this year’s Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship in Århus, Denmark.

Schenker A/S, one of the leading international providers of integrated logistics services, will be the sole logistic supplier of shipping and logistics relating to transportation of close to 220 brand new dinghies and equipment to be used about this year’s Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship, held from the 10-19 July 2008 in Århus, Denmark. In addition, Sailing Århus will have a global logistics partner, ready and able to provide all the necessary support and assistance in questions regarding shipping and logistics.

“We are very happy with the agreement”, said Event Director Thomas Capitani NIELSEN. “Schenker is a professional, experienced and not least global collaborator, able to ensure what is most essential for us, namely that the dinghies are delivered at the right place, at the right time, and not least in perfect condition, here in Århus. We confidently leave this job to Schenker and are therefore able to focus on what we do best, which is to organize the event itself.”

Two hundred and eighty sailors, between 15-18 years old, from more than 60 countries are expected to attend the 2008 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship, where racing twill take place in the Bay of Århus, near Århus Yachting Harbour.

Online Entry And Entry Deadline 15 April

Seven events will be contested at the 2008 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championship (listed below). Alongside the individual events, the prestigious Volvo Trophy will be awarded to the top performing nation at the championship.

Online entry is now available on the championship website at www.youthworlds2008.org (Under ‘Competitors’, ‘Registration’). All registration and entry forms, medical forms and payment instructions must be submitted by your ISAF Member National Authorities no later than 15 April 2008.
