Position Vacant: Coach For Indian High Performance Programme
The Yachting Association of India requires highly experienced Coach to work in India and be responsible for overall direction and supervision of high performance programme from youth through to Olympic sailing.
The Yachting Association of India requires highly experienced Coach to work in India and be responsible for overall direction and supervision of high performance programme from youth through to Olympic sailing.
The coach shall be responsible for setting goals for athletes in the national programme and in conjunction with the selection committee assist preparation of international events program. He will also assist the selection committee in developing athlete selection criteria.
The coach shall also assist in planning of yearly training and competition programme and directing its operation within the allocated budget.
The coach will also assist in selection, supervision and mentoring of coaches within the high performance programme, mentoring and discipline of athletes where required. He will be required to update the stakeholders (including parents) on the programme.
He shall also be responsible for compilation and submission of yearly budget for training and competition, equipment and coaching and reporting on performance of athletes and the team and the program as required.
Qualification
The applicant should possess a diploma in Coaching, should be able to converse in English and should be below 50 years of age as of 1 January 2009.
Experience
To be eligible, the applicant:
– should have been actively associated with coaching of Junior / Senior teams in the past five years.
– should have produced medal winning athletes at Asian Games/ Worlds/Olympics in the past five years.
– should have participated at the Olympic and attained a finish in the top eight.
Contract
The initial contract will be for a period of one year and can be extended for further duration.
Salary and other Benefits
Salary for the services shall be paid by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Government of India at the prescribed rates. Medical expenses, Insurance cover, travel for self, wife and upto one child on initial appointment and final return, transportation and accommodation will be provided. Travel and accommodation on duty will also be provided. The salary shall be exempt from taxes and a certificate to that affect will be provided by the SAI.
