Today saw the conclusion of the four day 29er Eurocup regatta organized by Fraglia Vela Riva, which also decided the final standings in the European Tour 2011.

Carlos Robles and Florian Trittel brought a 54 point lead into the final day over compatriots Marti Llena and Oriol Mahiques meaning the gold medal was nearly wrapped up for the 2011 ISAF Youth Worlds 29er Champions.

Llena and Mahiques temporarily slipped out of the silver medal position following a 15th place finish in Race 13 but they moved back into second spot after they finished second in the final race.

Norway’s Eline Snerlebakken and Anders Klippenberg had to settle for bronze after they pulled out of the final race.

In the 29er XX class, the German sisters Jule and Lotta Goerge dominated throughout.

The Spanish crew of Robles and Trittel took the overall 29er Eurocup 2011 title. Silver went to the Swiss team of Sandra Giovanoli and Stephan Zurfluh, seventh at Riva del Garda and Jack Hawkins and Chris Thomas were came third.

Once again the staff at Fraglia Vela Riva out-performed themselves for this event, which saw over sixty crews from ten different nations. Sun and wind prevailed over Trentino Garda, to give the best conditions possible for this event.
