The second day of World Sailing’s 2018 Annual Conference in Sarasota, Florida, USA will feature six meetings as well as the official opening reception.

Here’s a look at what’s on the agenda today:
 
World Sailing Classes Committee
 
There are 117 International Class Associations affiliated with World Sailing and many of those will convene today. World Sailing classes range from radio sailboats of 1 metre in length, all the way up to the Maxi yachts.
 
The classes will debate issues related to the welfare and growth of the classes and make recommendations in the interests of all classes.
 
The Classess Committee is chaired by Markus Schwendtner (GER) and the full agenda is available here.
 
Youth Events Sub-committee
 
The Youth Events Sub-committee’s main focus is on the Youth Sailing World Championships and the Youth Olympic Games and sailing’s strategy around both events.
 
Chaired by Cory Sertl (USA), the Committee will review the 2018 Youth Worlds, which was the first World Sailing event with an ocean conservation and sustainability theme as well as the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, recently held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
 
Looking ahead, the Sub-committee will receive progress reports on the 2019 Youth Worlds set to be held in Gdynia, Poland and look further afield at the 2020, 2021 and 2022 editions.
 
Dakar, Senegal was announced as the host of the next Youth Olympic Games and opportuntiies around this event will also be discussed.

International Judges, Race Management and International Measurers Sub-committees
 
World Sailing Judges, Race Officers and Measurers are vital in successfully and fair delivery of sailing events worldwide.
 
The Sub-committees will discuss a variety of topics including education and training of officials, the use of technology, event appointments and submissions.
 
The Sub-committees will also consider applications for prospective officials.

Opening of the World Sailing Annual Conference and Reception
 
Kim Andersen, World Sailing President, will open the conference follow the day of meetings, welcoming all of the international delegates.
