Thursday is the final day of Committee meetings at World Sailing's 2018 Annual Conference in Sarasota, Florida, USA.

Thursday is the final day of Committee meetings at World Sailing’s 2018 Annual Conference in Sarasota, Florida, USA.

The Events Committee, Constitution Committee, Oceanic and Offshore Committee and Para World Sailing Committee will all meet and make the final set of recommendations to World Sailing’s Council who will meet on Friday 2 and Saturday 3 November.
 
Events Committee
 
The Events Committee will review a busy year of events that included the Hempel Sailing World Championships in Aarhus, Denmark. They will also review the recent Youth Olympic Games held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the World Cup Series of events and the Youth Sailing World Championships.
 
Several submissions related to the Paris 2024 events were received ahead of the conference and the committee will discuss throughout the day and make recommendations to World Sailing’s Council.

Oceanic and Offshore Committee
 
The Universal Measurement System (UMS) will be discussed and the committee will receive a report on the work of the UMS Working Party and their worked at the combined IRC/ORC World Championship at Scheveningen, The Netherlands earlier this year.
 
Discussions on the World Sailing International / Recognized Rating Systems will follow with updates on events, debates on submissions and further reports also on the agenda.

Para World Sailing Committee
 
Sailing was not included in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games Sports Programme by the International Paralympic Committee and today the Para World Sailing Committee will discuss the report around the sports exclusion and next steps.
 
They will review the Para World Sailing Strategic Plan, the Paralympic Development Program and discuss recent and future events.
