Rindom, Chiavarini and Arian crowned European Champions

It was an intense week on the Atlantic front of Porto with more than 300 sailors, representing 55 countries fighting for the the European title in the Laser, Laser Radial and Open Laser Radial.

In the Laser Standard category, British sailor Lorenzo Chiavarini became European Champion, with Australia’s Matthew Wearn claiming the Open trophy.
 
In the Women’s Laser Radial category, Anne-Marie Rindom of Denmark maintained her advantage from the opening days and secured victory by winning in the penultimate race of the day.
 
In the Laser Radial Open category, Polish sailor Aleksander Arian took the European honours. In the Under-21 Laser Radial, the title went to the Irish sailor Jamie McMahon.

After 12 races during the six days of competition, the 2019 Laser European Championship, held at Porto, was considered a success by the present sailors.
