Strong winds under clear blue skies are expected on day two of the Hempel World Cup Series Final in Marseille, France.

Strong winds under clear blue skies are expected on day two of the Hempel World Cup Series Final in Marseille, France.

Tuesday’s action saw a full complement of races completed across the ten Olympic events and the Open Kiteboarding fleet. The wind conditions ranged from 9-12 knots on Tuesday but they are expected to pick up for the second race day.

The south easterly breeze will come in at 16 knots in the morning and build towards the middle part of the day. It is expected to hit 20+ knots around 13:00 with gusts of up to 29 knots before dropping later on in the evening.

Jordi Xammar and Nicolás Rodriguez (ESP) in the Men’s 470 and Mattia Camboni (ITA) in the Men’s RS:X were the stand out performers on the opening day, winning two races each in their respective fleets. They will be aiming for a similar performance on Wednesday. The remaining sailors will be pushing hard, aiming to finish as high up as possible in a bid to reach Saturday and Sunday’s Medal Races.
