Squizzato and Cichocki come out on top at European Para Sailing Championships

Held in Traunsee, Austria from 27 May to 1 June 2019, the Championships brought 49 Para sailors from 11 nations together racing across two fleets.
Three-time Paralympian Antonio Squizzato (ITA) took three race wins in the 29-boat 2.4mR fleet. Across the ten race series he consistently finished at the front of the fleet and finished on 31 points, six points clear of silver medallist Bernd Zirkelbach (GER). Ulli Libor (GER) completed the podium.
Poland’s Cichocki won nine of the ten races in the 20-boat Hansa 303 fleet to claim a comprehensive gold medal. Cichocki opened the week with a second in the opening race but was perfect thereafter.
Edouard Champault (FRA) and Waldemar Wozniak (POL) completed the podium.
