Racing commences today at Ready Steady Toyko – Sailing as 355 athletes from 47 nations are gearing up to prepare for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in one year’s time.

All 10 Olympic events will be in action on Day 1 of racing, with fleet sizes ranging from 20 (470 Women and RS:X Women) to 40 (Laser Radial).

With Typhoon Krosa passing through the island yesterday, today will see extropical cyclone conditions, with relatively strong south-southwesterly winds gradually decreasing throughout the day.

In terms of sea state, this morning will start with 2.5m waves, but this will decrease to 2m and then further still to 1.5m this afternoon.

Today’s temperature is expected to be around 32°C, with possible highs of 35°C.
