Day #2 Morning Report - Ready Steady Tokyo
Sailors were treated to big breeze and big waves on the opening day of racing at Ready Steady Tokyo - Sailing, but Day 2 is set to look a little different.
Sailors were treated to big breeze and big waves on the opening day of racing at Ready Steady Tokyo – Sailing, but Day 2 is set to look a little different.
Winds will be much calmer, with a high of about 10 knots this afternoon.
The morning will begin with a north-northeasterly wind between 1-5 knots, changing to a southwesterly breeze rising to around 6-10 knots after 12:00 local time.
After 15:00 local time, this is expected to drop back down to 1-5knots.
Waves are not expected to be any higher than 1m, a stark contrast to yesterday’s low of 1.5m.
Temperatures will be similar at around 32°C, but cloudier than yesterday.
The vast majority of Olympic events will start racing at around 12:00, with only the RS:X Men and 49er fleets starting later on at 14:00.
