Day #2 Morning Report - Hempel World Cup Series Enoshima

Heavy rain and strong wind greeted sailors and officials arriving early on Wednesday 28 August for the second day of Hempel World Cup Series Enoshima.

Heavy rain and strong wind greeted sailors and officials arriving early on Wednesday 28 August for the second day of Hempel World Cup Series Enoshima.

The conditions were as per the forecast so there were no surprises but the conditions are expected to remain throughout much of the day.

Thunderstorms are forecast to come in around 12:00 local time and the breeze is expected to be between 20-30 knots from the south west across Sagami Bay. The front will also be a 2.5m sea state.

The Race Committee boats for the 470, Finn and Laser fleets headed out at their usual time to assess the conditions but early reports were that the conditions were too gnarly to race.

As of 11:00, all Committee boats were on the water, monitoring the conditions with those scheduled to start at 12:00 postponed ashore.

Wednesday will be a waiting game for all concerned.
