Across the first three days of Hempel World Cup Series Enoshima, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic venue has served up contrasting weather conditions for the 496 sailors from 46 nations.

Tuesday was light, warm and fickle but on Wednesday and Thursday, strong winds, heavy rain and booming waves were present across Sagami Bay.

Friday’s forecast is for more heavy rain with thunderstorm risks.

The big breeze will continue from the south west with 20-25 knots forecast alongside stronger gusts. The sea state will be around two metres.

The 49er, 49erFX, Nacra 17 and RS:X fleets will conclude their fleet racing on Friday. The top ten at the end of the day will advance to Saturday’s Medal Races. The remaining fleets have two further days of fleet racing before Sunday’s Medal Races.
