World Sailing, the world governing body of the sport, invites interested parties to tender for the delivery of Competition Technology services at World Sailing competitions from 2022 to 2025.
World Sailing, the world governing body of the sport, invites interested parties to tender for the delivery of Competition Technology services at World Sailing competitions from 2022 to 2025.
Competition technology forms part of World Sailing’s wider technology strategy as lead by our Vision. The complete suite of competition technology services provides a turnkey solution for all of World Sailing’s competition stakeholders – sailors, broadcasters, Member National Authorities (MNA), Classes, Organising Committees and spectators – to achieve our Mission.
World Sailing has grouped Competition Technology into the following services:
- Qualification, entry, and registration
- Results, jury, race office and notice board
- Tracking and visual display
- Weather observation and display
- Race Management tools and scoreboards
- Data Analytics
- Digital Officiating – electronic and video
- Broadcast and scoreboard graphics
- Commentator and information systems
The competitions targeted for Competition Technology services:
- The Sailing World Championships and test event
- Youth Sailing World Championships
- Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers
- World Cup Series and Finals
- Para Competitions
World Sailing want to work in partnership with selected partners to set a new technology standard in the sport, bringing the world of sailing to life in more effective, fresh, engaging and dynamic ways.
The Invitation to Tender is intended to guide interested parties wishing to submit proposals to supply competition technology services to World Sailing. It outlines the specification of minimum requirements for both the technology solution and the delivery of the services at World Sailing competitions.
This is a unique opportunity to set the global standard for competition technology services of Olympic and para class sailing and wants to harness this opportunity to achieve key objectives and respond to key challenges.
World Sailing requests electronic proposals for World Sailing’s Competition Technology partner to be emailed to Michael Downing at World Sailing no later than 1700 (UTC) on 20 May 2022. World Sailing intends to appoint its Competition Technology partners, subject to legal agreement as proposed by the partner, by 1 July 2022.
