Meet the defending World and Olympic champions as they gear up for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games
The October edition of the World Sailing Show opens with a profile of the dominant Nacra 17 pair and current Rolex World Sailors of the Year, Ruggero Tita and Caterina Banti as the duo prepare to defend their titles in Marseille next summer. Tita will also be the helmsman on the Italian entry at the 37th America’s Cup.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Málaga, Spain, on 14 November 2023, and the World Sailing Show profiles the achievements of the finalists for each award. Elsewhere, the World Sailing Show catches up with SailGP as the event heads to Cádiz for leg five of Season 4 with Australia looking to remain unbeaten but Denmark, New Zealand and the United States all in contention for event honours. A nail-biting final race saw a surprise victor as the season continues to surprise.
They may be late joining the race, but French team Orient Express is not wasting any time in catching up with the fleet ahead of the 37th America’s Cup. The crew is already familiar with each other, racing together as part of the French SailGP team, and having logged countless hours in the simulator they are ready to put up a strong showing as France’s first America’s Cup entry since 2017.
The 55th Barcolana Regatta, the largest sailing race in the world, may have been cut short but it definitely did not lack excitement. Arca emerged victorious out of a fleet of over 1,700 boats starting the race. There was high quality sailing off the water, too, as Tristan Peron outperformed the competition to comfortably win the World Sailing eSailing World Championship.
