There is an in-depth look at all of the winners of all seven awards, and the glitz and glamour of the awards event. A full round up of the World Sailing Awards is available on the World Sailing website.

Next up, the World Sailing Show arrives in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the Alinghi Red Bull Racing team as they prepare for the next America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta. The show hears from Silvio Arrivabene, Co-General Manager of the team, members of the technical team and crew about how their practice is going in the Red Sea after fine tuning their AC40 and AC75 in Barcelona.

The World Sailing Show catches up with Sweden’s Vilma Bobeck and Rebecca Netzler, the world 49erFX champions and Rolex World Sailor of the Year nominees. It had been an injury-hit year for both sailors but their determination to get back to full fitness was rewarded with their first world championship. The pair dominated in The Hague, winning with a day to spare, and will hope to take their form into the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Elsewhere, the episode heads to Malta for the start of the 44th Rolex Middle Sea Race. Over 100 teams were getting ready to set out on the 606 nautical mile contest in the Mediterranean Sea. Starting from Malta’s Grand Harbour, the fleet’s fastest boats left first but it was not smooth sailing for all teams. The World Sailing Show hears from the winners and main challengers in a diverse fleet.

The latest leg of the GKA Kite World Tour from Brazil’s Cauipe Lagoon delivered in spectacular style and left the titles still up for grabs heading into the final round in Qatar next month.

There is also action from Pan American Games in Chile and the 49er, 49erFX and Nacra 17 European Championships in Vilamoura, Portugal, where there were medals and Olympic qualification on the line.
