Lauriane Nolot has had a stellar year, becoming Formula Kite world champion after victories at the Palma World Cup, Hyeres Regatta and Olympic Test Event were followed by a gold medal at the Allianz Sailing World Championships in August. The World Sailing Show catches up with Lauriane to discuss her breakthrough year and her excitement at potentially representing France at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The World Sailing Show also hears from Charlie Enright, skipper of 11th Hour Racing, to reflect upon their journey around the world to win The Ocean Race and become the first US-flagged team to take the title. There is also a look back at the pivotal moments and drama as the teams embarked upon the longest edition of the race in its 50 year history.
Next, the World Sailing Show heads to Gran Canaria for the inaugural Star Sailors League Gold Cup finals series. Billed as the World Cup of sailing nations, 56 nations began but with eliminations after every round over four weeks of racing it came down to the final four. The World Sailing Show has all the action from an enthralling final.
There are also interviews with the crews from this year’s Transat Jacques Vabre. The 40-strong fleet were delayed in leaving Le Havre due to rough conditions, and in all 16 would fail to complete the race, but for those that did it was the realisation of a dream.
And finally, the World Sailing Show reflects on the first combined Allianz Sailing World Championships in The Hague.
