Perfect conditions greet teams on day 1 of Women's Match Racing World Championships
Alongside the Red Sea Film Festival at the Jeddah Yacht Club and Marina, today marked the start the Women Match Racing World Championship bringing together stars of screen and sea.
Six teams will be competing this week, including the three top ranked at the World Sailing ranking.

Marvellous conditions saw 8-14 knots growing constantly across the day from the NW, allowing a wonderful setting with the coloured sails visible to the gathered crowds back on shore.
Pauline Courtois and her team from France, three-time Match Racing World Champion and seven-time Match Racing National Champion, are the winners of the first round robin with five wins from five races.
Anna Ostling and her team from Sweden, who competed in the first Women America’s Cup ever, got four wins.
Megan Thomson and her crew from New Zealand, take the 3rd position of this first round robin stage.
Kenza Coutard, Martina Carlsson and Sumaya Bamakhrama with their teams are already on the starting blocks positions to challenge this podium of Day 1.
The program sees two more days of the round robin to determine which teams will race in the semi-finals stage.
