Young World Sailor of the Year

Introduced in 2024, the Young World Sailor of the Year Award honours the achievements of the next generation of superstar sailors.

Nominations

Open to sailors under the age of 21, the Young World Sailor of the Year Award is the latest addition to the World Sailing Awards as World Sailing acknowledges and celebrates achievement at all levels of the sport.

Anyone may submit nominations for sailors – the national governing bodies for the sport of sailing, class associations, World Sailing Committee Members, sailors and any other interested parties. Sailors selected as nominees for the awards may represent any aspect of the sport.

Judging for each award is conducted by a panel comprised of independent experts representing the diversity of the entire marine industry. The panel determined a shortlist of finalists based upon all received nominations. This shortlist will be opened up to a public vote.
